Hematology/Oncology Physician Job Details

• Position Type: Locum tenens (Travel/Contract healthcare job)
• Practice Setting: Outpatient Hematology/Oncology clinic
• Location: Plymouth, Indiana 46563 (Indiana oncology jobs)
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (8-hour shifts)
• Weekly Hours: 40
• Assignment Duration: March 2026 – March 2027 (13-week minimum contract)
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Average Daily Patient Volume: 30
• EMR System: Epic
• Travel Support: Facility reimburses flight, hotel, rental car, and mileage at IRS standard rate
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $7,100 - $8,410

Hematology/Oncology Physician Qualifications

• Board Certification in Hematology/Oncology (required for all hematology/oncology physician jobs)
• Active Indiana State Medical License (required for Indiana healthcare jobs)
• BLS Certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in hematology/oncology clinical practice
• Proficiency in managing VAD/CV catheters and performing bone marrow biopsies
• Experience with bone marrow transplant management preferred
• Credentialing timeframe: 60 days with IN license, 90 days without

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive outpatient care for hematology and oncology patients (50% hematology, 50% oncology)
• Perform and manage procedures including VAD/CV catheter care and bone marrow biopsies
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging for cancer patients
• Prescribe and oversee chemotherapy administration in collaboration with nurse oncologists
• Coordinate patient care with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Document all patient encounters using Epic EMR
