Locum Tenens Hematology/Oncology Physician – Outpatient Jobs in Plymouth, Indiana

  • Location: Plymouth, IN 46563 – Small-town Indiana healthcare jobs with excellent amenities and natural surroundings
  • Practice Setting: Outpatient Hematology/Oncology clinic
  • Job Type: Locum tenens physician contract (travel healthcare position)
  • Assignment Duration: March 2026 – March 2027
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $7,100 - $8,410
  • Patient Population: Adult and geriatric oncology patients
  • Average Patients per Day: 30
  • EMR System: Epic
  • Travel Reimbursement: Includes flight, hotel, rental car, and mileage at IRS standard rate

Hematology/Oncology Physician Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Hematology/Oncology (ABMS or AOA required)
  • Active Indiana State Medical License (required for Indiana physician jobs)
  • BLS Certification
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in hematology/oncology clinical practice
  • Proficiency in management of vascular access devices (VAD/CV catheters) and bone marrow biopsy
  • Experience participating in Tumor Board and managing bone marrow transplants
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Hematology/Oncology Physician Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive outpatient care to hematology and oncology patients
  • Manage vascular access devices (VAD/CV catheters) and perform bone marrow biopsies
  • Participate in Tumor Board case discussions and collaborate on patient care plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging studies
  • Prescribe and oversee chemotherapy administration in partnership with nurse oncologists
  • Coordinate blood bank orders and manage bone marrow transplant cases
  • Document all patient care activities in Epic EMR
