JOB OVERVIEW
• Job Title: Pediatric Gastroenterologist
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Location: Phoenix, AZ
• Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient
• Coverage Type: Clinical Only
• Coverage Period: 03/30/2026 – 04/03/2026 (Ongoing potential; 1 week/month preferred for several months up to 1 year)
• Clinical Shift Schedule: 8-hour day shifts; 4 days clinic and 1 day endoscopy/administrative
COVERAGE DATES
• 03/30/2026 – 04/03/2026
• Additional 1 week per month coverage preferred for ongoing need
PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Pediatric patients
• Patient Volume/Census: Consultations average 1 per week during business hours
• Admissions: Yes, as clinically appropriate
• Rounding: Included during scheduled hours
• Phone Consults: During business hours only
• Case Mix: Full spectrum of pediatric gastroenterology conditions (No ERCP performed at facility)
FACILITY INFORMATION
• Trauma Level: Adult Level I–IV
• EMR System: EPIC; Endovault for endoscopy documentation
• Office Equipment Available: Fully equipped clinic and endoscopy suite
• Specialty Backup Available: Full range of children’s health services
• Support Staff Available: Cultural health navigation program supporting international refugee populations
• Reason for Coverage: Ongoing supplemental coverage need
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
• Credentialing Timeline: AZ Licensed ~6 weeks; IMLC ~2 months; Not AZ Licensed ~3 months (credentialing may begin during licensure process)
• Submission Restriction: Agency ownership for 1 year from date of submission
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Included within flat rate structure
REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• Pediatric GI clinic evaluations and management
• Endoscopic procedures appropriate to pediatric GI (No ERCP performed)
• Inpatient consultations during business hours
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active AZ license preferred; Willing to license; IMLC considered
• Board: Board Certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology within the last 5 years
• DEA: Active DEA required
• Certifications: As required by specialty and hospital privileging
• Experience: Minimum 2 years recent experience in Pediatric Gastroenterology
• Other Qualifications: Medicare eligible and enrolled (not opted out); Clean malpractice and license history required; Updated CV with all gaps explained
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide comprehensive pediatric gastroenterology care in clinic and endoscopy settings
• Conduct inpatient consultations during scheduled business hours
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary pediatric teams to ensure continuity of care
• Utilize EPIC and Endovault systems for documentation
• Deliver culturally competent care supported by health navigation services
