Pediatric Gastroenterology Physician - Springfield, IL
A growing academic medical center in Springfield, IL is seeking a Pediatric Gastroenterology Physician to join its busy and collaborative department. This role offers a mix of clinical and academic responsibilities (80% clinical / 20% academic) across inpatient, outpatient, and outreach care.
Clinical Focus & Responsibilities:
- General pediatric gastroenterology with flexibility to develop subspecialty interests
- Procedures include EGD, colonoscopy, foreign body removal, and management of inflammatory bowel disease
- Clinic volume: 5-6 patients per half-day; 1 procedure day
- Call: 10-12 days per month, mostly remote with 30-minute response time; one weekend per month
- Outreach clinic currently serving Decatur (1-2 day per month)
Academic & Teaching Opportunities:
- Work with medical students, pediatric residents
- Research opportunities and academic rank advancement available
Team & Support:
- Collaborative interdisciplinary team including nurses, dietitians, NPs, and social workers
- Affiliated with a children's hospital
- Full patient panel from a busy service line
Candidate Requirements:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology
- Completion of a U.S.-based residency program; international graduates welcome
