Major/Essential Functions
•Provides patient care and diagnosis in Pediatric Endocrinology to newborns, children and adolescents •Determines nature and extent of disease or injury
•Prescribes and administers medication
•Supervises mid-level providers in the clinical setting
•Ensures compliance with HIPPAA and billing regulations
•Participates in research and scholarly activities within the Department of Pediatrics •Demonstrate professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine’s Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility
•Participates in the education of medical students and residents of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Paul L. Foster School of Medicine

Required Qualifications
Academic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of study, to the candidate’s intellectual and artistic development, and to the quality of the academic enterprise; a record of professional service appropriate to the discipline; promise of growth in teaching and research or artistic and creative activity.

•M.D./D.O. degree or foreign medical equivalent degree
•Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatrics Residency Program
•Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship Program
•Eligible to obtain a Texas State Medical License
•Board Certified in Pediatric Endocrinology by the American Board of Pediatrics or eligible to sit for examination in Pediatric Endocrinology
•Experience in teaching students and residents in Pediatric Endocrinology
