Pediatric Endocrinologist - Detroit, MI (Children's Hospital of Michigan)
WHY THIS POSITION
This isn't just another peds endo job. You'll join the state's highest-volume pediatric endocrinology program - the team that treats more inpatient pediatric endocrine cases than any other institution in Michigan. Your patient panel will include the nation's largest cohort of African-American children with Type 1 diabetes, providing unparalleled experience in culturally competent diabetes care.

YOUR DIVISION TEAM
- 5 Pediatric Endocrinologists (you'll be #6)
- 7 diabetes nurse educators who know your patients by name
- 6 endocrine nurses
- 2 dietitians
- 1 social worker
- Full ancillary support
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO
- Minimum 6 half-day clinics weekly
- Inpatient and outpatient care
- Call: shared among division members
- Academic role: faculty appointment, training one of nation's largest pediatric residency programs
CLINICAL SCOPE
- Type 1 diabetes management (insulin pump program with all major platforms)
- Continuous glucose monitoring for every patient who needs it
- Growth disorders and short stature evaluation
- Thyroid conditions (nodules, hypothyroidism, cancer surveillance)
- Adrenal disorders including CAH
- Puberty disorders (precocious and delayed)
- Obesity and metabolic syndrome
MULTIDISCIPLINARY COLLABORATION
Works with: Neurosurgery, Cardiology, General Surgery, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Hematology/Oncology, Immunology, Gastroenterology
