Locums – Pediatric Endocrinologist
Location: Long Beach, California
Setting: Outpatient Clinic + Inpatient Rounding + 24/7 Call
Quick-Screen Requirements
Licenses & Certifications
- Active California Medical License – REQUIRED
- Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Pediatric Endocrinology
- BE acceptable if early career and within the allowed timeframe to sit for boards
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience
- Local candidates highly preferred
- Start Date: ~ January 1, 2026 (TBD); ongoing need
- Number of Positions: 2
- Schedule: Week-on coverage model
- Half-day clinic
- Inpatient rounding (Hospital, NICU, PICU)
- 24/7 telephone call coverage
- Clinic Volume: Flexible. Goal = ½-day clinic daily; video visits allowed.
- Callback Volume: Low.
- Historically multiple providers + fellows; now one locum per day, so minimal callbacks anticipated.
- Insulin pump management
- Continuous glucose monitoring management
- Supervision of infusion center performing stim testing and endocrine tests
- Referral bonuses available—ask for details!
- Ideal for candidates comfortable with both outpatient endocrine care and inpatient consult service.
