Job description
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Endocrinologist for a locum tenens assignment at their Greensboro location. The role includes both clinic responsibilities and on-call coverage, helping support a high-volume pediatric endocrinology practice. You’ll join a collaborative team that includes other pediatric specialists, RNs, CMAs, and advanced practice providers. This assignment is designed to cover a staffing gap and help manage an established patient base that includes a mix of new and follow-up pediatric patients.
Job Responsibilities
Provide care for a variety of endocrine conditions including:
Diabetes
Growth and puberty disorders
Obesity
Thyroid and pituitary conditions
Adrenal and lipid disorders
New patient visits: 60 minutes | Follow-ups: 30 minutes
Participate in hospital call (mainly phone-based, no discharge notes or care plans required)
Collaborate with in-house pediatric specialists across multiple disciplines
Utilize Epic EMR for charting and documentation
Qualifications
Active North Carolina medical license (not open to licensing)
DEA license required
PALS certification preferred
Experience with Epic EMR strongly preferred
All levels of experience considered
Working Hours
Pager Call: 8:00 AM – 8:00 AM (phone only, attending-to-attending)
Weekend Call: Phone consults only; hospital will not expect physical presence unless provider deems necessary
Providers can structure call duties around clinic load (before or after clinic hours)
Skills
Excellent communication and comfort managing phone-based consults
Collaborative and flexible approach to care within a multi-specialty pediatric group
Able to manage a steady caseload while maintaining a high standard of care
