An academic teaching hospital in Berks County, Pennsylvania is hiring a Board Eligible/Board Certified, fellowship-trained Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician on a full-time and permanent basis. Doctors will help serve a population of more than 400,000 in this busy ER. This ER department sees roughly 30,000 children annually. Hired physician can work with the new EM residents – a program that started in July of 2018. This job offers you opportunities for academics, quality improvement, and research.
Hospital is a tertiary independent academic medical center with over 700 beds. Enjoy working at a facility that has:
- 20-bed inpatient pediatric unit with 24-hour Pediatric Hospitalist coverage.
- 16 bed self-contained pediatric emergency unit within the 120 bed Emergency Department
- Level III NICU.
- Level I Trauma Center Designation.
- Ranked in top 5% nationwide for financial accreditation and for patient safety.
- In 2020, will have a branch campus for a University College of Medicine.
- Over 3,500 births annually; high-risk pre- and post-natal care; IVF and fertility services
