We are seeking a fellowship-trained, BC/BE Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician to join our Team in Fort Myers, Florida. MEDICAL DIRECTOR opportunity exists in addition to non-leadership position.
Pediatric Emergency Services are delivered through Golisano Children’s Hospital, and are essential to the health and well-being of the pediatric population of Southwest Florida. Within our Pediatric Emergency Department, we offer a LEAN Care Track, in addition to acute care services.
Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida is a new, state-of-the-art, free-standing, family-centered, full-service pediatric hospital. This 128 bed regional hospital has a 64 bed Neonatal intensive care unit, and cares for children across a five county area. Golisano Children’s Hospital is recognized nationally as one of the nation’s 10 “Top Children’s Hospitals” by the Leapfrog Group, and was also awarded Soliant's 2018 Most Beautiful Hospital in the U.S. Our mission is to keep children close to home for their medical care.
The Golisano Children’s ED is staffed with double coverage 24/7 by Pediatric Emergency Physicians and Advanced Providers, and utilizes Epic EMR. Our 28 bed ER sees nearly 40,000 patients annually.
ED employment shift are 10 hours in length, with boosted coverage during peak hours and high season
- 156 total shifts per year constitute full-time employment (13 shifts/month)
This is a full-time employed physician role with Lee Physician Group, part of the Lee Health system. As we are a non-profit health system, all professional malpractice and medical liability are covered for our employed physicians, under sovereign immunity.
