A Pediatric Emergency Medicine Associate Director will have the opportunity to work alongside a supportive team to deliver excellence in patient care. Associate directors are expected to support the EM director in overseeing the operations of the emergency department in collaboration with the nursing staff and hospital leadership.

DETAILS

  • Supports the PEM Director in overseeing the operations of the Pediatric ED in collaboration with nursing leadership and hospital administration
  • Helps with the supervision of the emergency medical staff, per the bylaws, policies, and procedures of the institution
  • Represents the Pediatric ED in the community and within the hospital medical staff

PEDIATRIC EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

  • Trauma Designation: Level III
  • ED Volume: 15,000
  • ED Beds: 18
  • Staffing Model:
    • 24-hours of PEM physician coverage per day
    • 16-20 hours of pediatrician/APP coverage per day
  • EMR: Cerner/CPOE and PowerNote Documentation
  • Physician Qualifications: BC/BE in Pediatric Emergency Medicine
  • APP Qualifications: BC PA or PNP-Acute Care/FNP with 2 years pediatric ED/CC/UC experience
  • Imaging center

HOSPITAL

  • This brand-new, 135,000 square foot hospital opened in April 2023
  • 36 universal beds (12 designated as intensive care rooms and 24 designated as acute care rooms)
  • 2 operating rooms with a 3rd to open December 2023
  • 2 endoscopy rooms and room to grow
  • Ronald McDonald House 2-bedroom suite and family respite space
  • 24 hr/day in-house coverage with: PEM physician, pediatric hospitalist, pediatric intensivist, pediatric anesthesiologist and pediatric surgery APP
