Contract Length: 12 weeks

Shift Details: 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts

Call: 4 weekend call shifts per month

Schedule: 160 clinical hours per month

Work Details:

Support staff: clin pharmacist, respiratory therapist, case manager
Amount of coverage needed per month: 160 hours per month
Patients per day: ED treats nearly 60,000 pts per year (ADC = 163); MV ED treats nearly 38,000 pts per year (ADC = 103).
Patient population/age: Birth through 21 yrs of age; ED BH patients treated up to 18 yrs of age (BH inpatient unit does not accept pts > 18 yrs of age); ED's will treat patients up 26 yrs of age that are patients of ACH's subspecialties (E.g., Cystic Fibrosis pts, etc.).

Department description: ED Level 1 Trauma, state-of-the-art 39 beds, 50+ providers supported by neonatologists, critical care, and ortho and ped surgery svcs.; MV ED newly renovated w/ 23 treatment rooms, 20+ providers; both have dedicated suture teams, child life specialists, social work and embedded behavioral health units; is the only ped. hospital in northeast OH that has its own helicopter and ped. transport team.

EMR: EPIC
Special procedures: Sedation; intubation; airway management; trauma assessment Behavioral Health assessments completed by Master's prepared individuals and findings discussed with PEM's regarding admission/D/C. APP's and Pediatricians work within there scope in the 2 locations .
Skills preferred: Will need to maintain and achieve onboarding training, competencies, de-escalation training.
Skills required: Deep sedation; advanced airway management.
Technology: Nitrous equipment for minor/moderate sedation; Vapotherm; Point of Care U/S (requires credentialing); Glidescope; All Level 1 Trauma Center equipment (2 Trauma rooms)

License required: OH license

Certifications required: ACLS, ATLS, PALS
Minimum experience required: Two years or more experience in a pediatric Trauma Level 1 emergency department.
