Tower health is seeking a Hematopathologist to join our department at Reading Hospital in West Reading Pennsylvania. Candidates should possess an MD/D.O. degree, be board certified in hematopathology as well as anatomic and clinical pathology and have at least 3 years' experience in a hospital setting. The practice includes bone marrow and lymph node evaluations, peripheral blood smear reviews, in house flow cytometric evaluation, hemoglobin electrophoresis interpretation, coagulation testing sign out, and interpretation of FISH testing. Expertise and additional training in breast pathology and/or transplant pathology are also desirable.


Our department consists of 8 pathologists who have certifications and expertise in multiple disciplines. The department primarily supports Reading Hospital, a regional 750+ bed tertiary care center as well as an outpatient surgery center, a rehabilitation hospital, and associated physician offices. The clinical laboratory employs over 300 technologists, technicians and support personnel and performs four (4) million tests per year. Our annual volume of surgical pathology cases is over 34,000 with 5600 non-GYN cytology cases, 1355 FNAs, 241 bone marrow biopsies, over 700 flow cytometry cases, and 26 autopsies. In summary the practice is busy and has a wealth of interesting and challenging cases.


Candidates should possess an MD/D.O. degree, be board certified in hematopathology as well as anatomic and clinical pathology and have at least 3 years' experience in a hospital setting.
