Transplant/Medical Renal and Genitourinary Pathologist F-65090
The Department of Pathology, Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine/VCU Health is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor, non-tenure track, in the Division of Anatomic Pathology. The successful candidate will be board certified in AP or AP/CP with fellowship training in Surgical Pathology and special expertise or fellowship training in Transplant/Medical Kidney Pathology.
Position Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to day sign out of Transplant/Medical Kidney pathology and Genitourinary pathology (or other specialty sign-out as assigned by the Division Chair of Anatomic Pathology), training of residents, education of medical students, participation in funded and unfunded research activities, and other clinical/academic activities as indicated by the division chair. The successful candidate will report to and work closely with the division chair to further the mission of the division and the department.
Required Qualifications
Prospective candidates should have superb diagnostic skills and the drive to excel in scholarly activities. The applicant should have a potential for developing clinical research collaborations. Participation in graduate and undergraduate medical education is required. MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree with Board certification in Anatomic Pathology, or combined Anatomic and Clinical Pathology is required as well as fellowship training or proven expertise in a focused area of Anatomic Pathology indicated above. Candidates must be qualified for full, unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia. In addition, the candidate should be committed to fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment as a faculty member at VCU.
