Position Overview
Blue Health, LLC is seeking a Pathologist to provide part-time contract coverage at Wellington Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Florida, and Alan B. Miller Medical Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
This position is designed primarily to provide vacation and scheduled leave coverage, with approximately 12–15 weeks of coverage per year based on departmental needs and provider availability.
The position offers a flexible contract schedule and the opportunity to work within a collaborative hospital-based pathology service supporting the diagnostic needs of the hospitals and their clinical teams.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong diagnostic skills, sound clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with laboratory staff, physicians, and other clinical team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely and accurate pathology services during assigned coverage periods
- Examine and interpret surgical pathology specimens and other assigned diagnostic material
- Perform diagnostic evaluation within the physician's scope of practice and areas of competency
- Provide appropriate consultation and communication with referring physicians and clinical teams
- Review and finalize pathology reports in a timely manner
- Collaborate effectively with laboratory personnel and other members of the multidisciplinary care team
- Participate in applicable quality assurance, peer review, and quality improvement activities
- Maintain compliance with applicable hospital, laboratory, regulatory, and patient safety standards
- Provide coverage for scheduled physician vacations and other approved periods of leave
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified / Board Eligible in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology or appropriate pathology specialty
- Fellowship training in general or subspecialty pathology preferred, as applicable to the position
- Active Florida medical license or eligibility for Florida licensure
- Strong diagnostic, clinical, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a collaborative hospital environment
- Prior hospital-based pathology experience preferred
- Ability to provide approximately 12–15 weeks of coverage per year based on departmental needs and mutually agreed-upon scheduling
Compensation
Compensation is based on experience, licensure, scope of services, coverage schedule, and organizational needs.
Benefits
This is a part-time contract position. Benefits are not applicable to 1099 contract arrangements.
