Exciting Opportunity for Pathology Chair and Laboratory Medical Director

Pathlink, LLC is seeking a dynamic Pathology Chair & Laboratory Medical Director to lead and oversee all pathology and laboratory services across BronxCare health system. This is a senior leadership role responsible for clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, operational performance, and strategic growth of the department.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Administrative Leadership

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
• Supervise attending pathologists, laboratory staff, and administrative personnel
• Ensure high-quality diagnostic services in anatomic and clinical pathology
• Establish and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs

Laboratory Medical Director Duties

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies (CLIA, CAP, TJC, NYS DOH)
• Oversee laboratory accreditation, inspections, and proficiency testing
• Monitor quality control, utilization management, and patient safety initiatives
• Collaborate with hospital leadership on performance improvement and service expansion

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
• Board Certified in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology
• New York State medical license required as well as NY State Certificate of Qualification in Clinical Laboratories
• Previous experience preferred
• Knowledge of CLIA, CAP, TJC, and NYS regulatory standards
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills
