Opportunity Overview
St. Joseph’s Health in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Board-Certified Anatomic Pathologist to provide short-term locum coverage due to a physician shortage. This is a collegial, hospital-based pathology group with strong onsite support and no call responsibilities.
You’ll join a team of:

4 Pathologists
-
5 Histotechnologists
-
1 Pathology Assistant
-
2 Cytotechnologists
Other pathologists will be present during coverage.
Clinical Responsibilities

General Anatomic Pathology

Surgical Pathology

Cytology (GYN cytology included; cytology proficiency exam required)

Frozen section analysis

Grossing own specimens
-
Cutting frozen sections on cryostat
Annual Volumes:

~13,000 surgical specimens

~3,000 cytology specimens
Laboratory & Equipment

Certifications: CLIA & NYS

EMR: EPIC / Beaker

ThinPrep Integrated Imager (Hologic)

Cryostat: Avantik QS12UV, Avantik QS II

Microscopes: Nikon Eclipse E400, Olympus BX41
