Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Anatomic Pathologist for locum tenens coverage due to a staffing shortage. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative pathology team in a well-equipped hospital-based laboratory environment with no call responsibilities.
The locum provider will perform general anatomic pathology services including surgical pathology, frozen sections, and cytology.
Case Volume:
~13,000 surgical specimens/year
~3,000 cytology specimens/year
Position Overview:
General Anatomic Pathology
Surgical Pathology
Cytology (GYN & Non-GYN)
Perform and interpret frozen sections
Gross own specimens
Cut own frozen sections on cryostat
Utilize ThinPrep methodology for cytology
Work within EPIC/Beaker documentation system
Other pathologists will be present during coverage. No supervision of other healthcare providers required

Laboratory Certifications
CLIA Certified
New York State Certified
Equipment
ThinPrep Integrated Imager (Hologic)
Cryostat: Avantik QS12UV, Avantik QS II
Microscopes: Nikon Eclipse E400, Olympus BX41
Requirements:
AP Board Certified
Active New York State Medical License
Cytology Proficiency Exam required for GYN cytology
Ability to gross specimens and cut frozen sections independently
