Lead a Multi-Hospital Pathology Service | Capital Division of HCA Healthcare Pathology Services
HCA Healthcare Pathology Services (HPS) is seeking an accomplished Pathology Market Medical Director to oversee pathology and clinical laboratory services for LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA, and three LewisGale community hospitals in Pulaski, Blacksburg, and Low Moor. This is a senior leadership role ideal for a pathologist who combines diagnostic excellence with a passion for mentorship, team development, and strategic, system-level influence.
As Market Medical Director, you'll partner closely with hospital administration and clinical leadership across the region, guide a dedicated team of pathologists and laboratory professionals, and contribute to clinical quality and operational enhancements across the Capital Division, which includes hospitals in Virginia and New Hampshire.

What We’re Looking For
- AP/CP Board Certification required
- Previous medical directorship experience and enthusiasm for mentoring
- Current experience signing out general surgical pathology
- Ability to perform frozen sections confidently and independently
- Virginia medical license or FCVS highly preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across service lines
