Required Skills:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) licensed and board-certified or eligible in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
- Proven experience in forensic autopsies, including house and coroner cases
- Strong knowledge of forensic pathology procedures, protocols, and legal standards
- Excellent analytical, observational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a high-stakes environment
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience working in a hospital-based forensic pathology department
- Additional certifications such as Forensic Pathology fellowship or related training
- Familiarity with legal proceedings and documentation requirements
- Experience with autopsy photography and detailed report writing
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Certification by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in forensic pathology or a closely related field
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work variable hours based on case volume, with potential overnight or weekend shifts
- Ability to obtain necessary credentials and licensure timely
- Valid medical license in the relevant jurisdiction
- Travel not required; local autopsy procedures only
Compensation:
- Hourly Pay Rate: $1.00 (pending adjustment subject to standard practices)
- Flexible scheduling with specific dates to be confirmed based on caseload
- Start date: April 20, 2026
