Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct house autopsies and coroner autopsies in accordance with established protocols.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and legal entities to provide expert analysis.
- Prepare detailed autopsy reports and testify in legal proceedings as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant medical and legal standards.
Required Skills:
- Valid medical license with board certification in forensic pathology or equivalent training.
- Proven expertise in performing forensic autopsies.
- Strong knowledge of forensic sciences, legal procedures, and medical-legal documentation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness in case documentation.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with digital pathology or advanced forensic technology.
- Prior work in a hospital-based forensic pathology setting.
- Familiarity with legal processes related to forensic investigations.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in forensic or anatomic pathology.
- Completion of a fellowship in forensic pathology preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Flexibility to attend cases scheduled on varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to travel for case investigations or conferences as needed.
- Certification from the American Board of Pathology or relevant certifying body.
- Must be able to secure proper credentials and licensure.
