Tenet Healthcare's Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas is seeking a board-certified pathologist with expertise in both anatomic and clinical pathology for a locum tenens assignment. The start date is ASAP and coverage is ongoing to meet a scheduling need. The schedule consists of hospital hours Monday–Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with call after hours, on weekends and on holidays. Work is inpatient only and includes supervising two PA/NPs and collaborating with office staff. Cases include surgical pathology, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, neuropathology, dermatopathology, hematopathology (including bone marrow aspiration and biopsy procedures), pediatric tumor pathology, cytology (GYN and non-GYN), autopsy (forensic and non-forensic), frozen sections, hematology, microbiology, chemistry/serology, blood bank and more.
