Pathologist | Watertown, NY Board Certified/Eligible in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Position Summary: • Full-time hospital-employed Pathologist joining a team of two experienced BC Pathologists. • Board Certified/Eligible in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP). • Eligible for NY medical licensure and CLEP Certificate of Qualification. • Fellowship or recent surgical pathology experience welcomed. • Strong diagnostic and communication skills required. Compensation & Benefits: • Annual base salary: $431,932 • Signing bonus: $50,000 • Annual educational loan repayment: $20,000 • Relocation reimbursement: $15,000 Practice Highlights: • 290-bed, not-for-profit hospital serving Northern New York. • Team of 190 physicians across 45 specialties. • 24/7 full-service laboratory performing 1,000+ tests daily. • Accredited by NYSDOH, Joint Commission, and AABB. Laboratory & Technology Capabilities: • In-house immunohistochemical (IHC) and in situ hybridization (ISH) staining using Leica BOND-MAX III automated stainer. • Digitally printed blocks and slides for minimized labeling errors and full traceability. • State-of-the-art Siemens Atellica chemistry analyzers and modern LIS. Key Responsibilities: • Interpret surgical pathology, cytology (gynecologic and non-gynecologic), and hematopathology cases. • Perform grossing of routine specimens, occasional frozen sections, and IHC/ISH diagnostic workups. • Provide clinical consultation in clinical pathology including blood bank/transfusion medicine, microbiology, hematology, and chemistry. • Provide medical direction for clinical laboratory services, maintaining compliance with NYSDOH, CLIA, and Joint Commission standards. • Participate in tumor boards, multidisciplinary conferences, and quality improvement initiatives. • Communicate effectively with technical staff and provide expertise as needed. • Participate in equitable call coverage (light, one in three weeks) and provide timely consultative support to clinicians.
