Physician Practice Enhancement in conjunction with Pathlink is seeking an experienced Surgical Pathologist to go between 2 hospitals for this full-time position.
Pathologist to travel to hospitals in East Orange and Passaic, NJ
Monday to Friday Position
30-60 Cases per week
About the Role:
The Pathologist will plays a critical role in diagnosing diseases through the examination of surgical specimens. This position involves detailed analysis of tissue samples to provide accurate and timely pathology reports that directly influence patient treatment plans. The pathologist collaborates closely with surgeons, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. The role demands a high level of expertise in surgical pathology techniques, including gross examination, microscopic evaluation, and ancillary testing. Ultimately, the pathologist contributes to improving patient outcomes by delivering precise diagnostic information and supporting clinical decision-making.
Job Responsibilities
Analyze tissue samples using histopathological techniques to identify abnormalities and diagnose diseases.
Prepare detailed pathology reports that accurately describe findings and provide diagnostic conclusions.
Collaborate with clinical teams to discuss pathology results and assist in determining appropriate patient management strategies.
Maintain compliance with laboratory safety protocols, quality control standards, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and tumor boards to contribute pathology expertise.
Stay current with advances in surgical pathology and incorporate new diagnostic methods as appropriate
Qualifications
Board certification in Anatomic Pathology or Surgical Pathology.
Valid medical license to practice pathology in the state of NJ
Demonstrated experience in surgical pathology, including specimen handling and microscopic diagnosis.
Strong knowledge of histopathology, immunohistochemistry, and related diagnostic techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years Experience working in a hospital-based pathology department or medical center.
Research experience or publications in pathology-related fields.
Excellent communication skills for effective interdisciplinary collaboration.
