A hospital-based Pathology opportunity is available at a 70-bed Level IV trauma center starting November 3rd. The position is full-time with call coverage, primarily handling blood bank issues. The physician will work alongside a full-time lab system director and experienced histology staff. The lab uses Cerner/Paragon EMR, and LabCorp handles immunohistochemistry and thyroid FNAs. Cases include frozen sections, cytology specimens (urines, bronch washes, pleural/ascitic fluids), and occasional pediatric specimens.
Job Responsibilities
Participate in callbacks (1–2/week), mostly blood bank issues.
Collaborate with histology staff, senior techs, and lab director.
Review cytology specimens and occasional frozen sections.
Maintain high-quality documentation in Cerner/Paragon.
Qualifications
State license required; DEA registration required.
BLS and ACLS required.
Minimum 1 year of post-training experience.
Comfortable with frozen sections and cytology.
Willing to obtain temporary WV license or IMLC.
