Schedule

• Full-time: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

• Call Coverage: Full-time call included

• Call Back Frequency: Mostly Blood Bank issues (approx. 1–2 per week)

Work Details

• Facility: Acute Care Hospital | 70 beds | Level IV Trauma

• Support Staff:

  • 2 full-time histotechs (gross biopsies & gallbladders, attend FNAs & bone marrows)

  • Experienced senior lab techs across all departments

  • Lab system director onsite

  • Special stains done in-house; immunohistochemistry via LabCorp (remote images available)

• Patient Population: Mostly adults, with occasional pediatric peripheral smear reviews (tonsils, appendices)

• Procedures: Frozen sections, cytology (urines, bronchial washes/brushes, pleural/ascitic fluids). Thyroid FNAs sent to LabCorp.

• Charting/EMR: Cerner / Paragon

Requirements

• Board Certification: Required (Pathology)

• Licensure: Active WV license or IMLC/temporary WV eligible

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, DEA

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year

Credentialing Timeframe: ~60 days
