**Pathology Opening in NE** -Located in North Platte, NE. -Full Time & Permanent Position. **About the job** -Diagnose presence and stage of diseases using laboratory techniques and patient specimens, studying nature, cause, and development of diseases. Responsible for pathology and clinical laboratory operations as Medical Director of Laboratory/Pathology Services and provide general medical supervision and direction to pathology and laboratory staff in the Hospital and outreach labs. Lead/participate in periodic quality assessments and inspections and recommend and implement changes. Perform specimen analysis using laboratory tools and equipment to study samples and identify diseases or other abnormalities. Perform tests to analyze bodily fluids and tissue specimens. Interpret results from tests, adhering to health and safety regulations. Diagnose diseases and study medical conditions using gross pathology, histology, cytology, cytopathology, clinical chemistry, immunology, flow cytometry, and molecular biology. Identify etiology, pathogenesis, morphological change, and clinical significance of diseases. Review cases by analyzing laboratory findings and case investigation reports. Research methods to test and identify diseases to find innovative treatments. Write pathology reports detailing specimens tested and results of tests, summarize analyses, results, and final diagnosis, and communicate findings to physician. Consult with physicians on ordering and interpreting tests and suggest potential treatment options. Assist in developing and implementing pathology educational programs for physicians, students and staff in medical laboratory professions. Participate in professional organizations and conferences. Full-time, with a minimum 40 hours per week with on-call coverage and some travel possible incident to oversight of reference laboratories located in the surrounding area. **Minimum Requirements:** Medical Doctorate degree in Medicine, Medicine and Surgery, or closely related field, or ECFMG equivalent; completion of medical residency training in Pathology, fellowship training in Selective or Surgical Pathology, and fellowship training in Hematopathology; Board certification in Pathology Anatomic/Pathology Clinical and Board eligible in Hematopathology; current Nebraska medical license; experience using lab testing equipment, such as microscopes and flow cytometers; and working knowledge of medical data management software (COPATH Anatomical Pathology and Sunquest Laboratory Information Systems).
