Pathologist Locums Job in South Dakota

Jackson + Coker's valued South Dakota client needs Pathology coverage starting June 2024 and ongoing. Seeking one to two Pathologists who can provide five days per month (or every other month) and is flexible with the specific dates that they will need.

Average daily grossing during January and February 2024:
* 3.5 = 88300 (gross only)
* 2 = 88304 (level III)
* 22 = 88305 (level IV)
* 2.5 = 88307 (level V)

Details/Requirements for Assignment #100747:
-- Active South Dakota license required or IMLC (there is time to license from scratch too)
-- Board Certification required
-- Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm, with night call (almost never called in past 5pm)
-- There will be a second pathologist half the time, other half will be solo
-- Volume: 25-30 surgical cases per day with 0-3 non-gyn cytology's per day
-- Mostly Surgical Pathology but also includes FNA and EBUS Cytology slides, including bedside adequacy checks
-- Pathologist expected to perform path review of peripheral blood smears but bone marrow samples are sent to reference lab. Pathologists might get questions on transfusion medicine but the site does not process its own donors.
-- Frozen sections and grossing required - some biopsies grossed by histo-techs
-- Meditech EMR, 175+ bed hospital
