Hiring a Pathologist for an academic medical center in Brooklyn, NY.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the analysis of all Pathology, Cytology and Autopsy Specimens according to hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensures the prompt response to on-call and frozen section requests through self or designee.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of clinical specimens.
- Knowledge for the oversight of Point of Care Testing.
- Performs and ensures the timely turnaround of autopsies according to hospital guidelines.
- Supports compliance with all accrediting agencies including College of American Pathologists.
- Participates in performance in all required proficiency testing required by New York State and College of American Pathologists.
- Oversees the Quality Control for all Departments as necessary.
- Attends Cancer Committee, Tumor Board, Quality Committee, Blood Utilization, Point of Care, and other meetings as requested.
- Ensures the turnaround time of the results from the Department of Pathology.
- MD/DO
- Board Certified in Pathology
- 2-3 years prior experience in Pathology.
