Job Summary:

HCA Healthcare Pathology Services is seeking a Pathologist, Board Certified in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology, for HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital.

Qualified Candidates:
  • AP/CP certification or board eligibility
  • At least three years of hospital-based experience
  • Active Florida Medical License or eligible to obtain
  • Comfortable with the full scope of AP and CP for community hospital practice
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience building collaborative relationships with hospital staff and referring physicians.
Pathology Work Description:
  • Surgical volumes – approximately 2800 per year
  • Cytology – 250 per year
  • Procedures (frozen sections and ROSE) – 6-7 per week
  • Clinical Pathology
  • Peripheral smears – 4-5 per day
  • Blood bank reviews – 3-4 per month
  • HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital has approximately 215 beds. Anatomic pathology specimens include a wide variety of cases - breast, GU, colorectal, thoracic, ortho and gyn/OB specimens.
