100% Surgical Pathology role, ideally want cytopathologist, would do a combination of general and cytopathology
Department of 4 full-time pathologists + 1 surgical pathologist + 4 Downstate pathologists that provide PT coverage at Hospital+ Blood Banker + Director of Laboratory + Anatomic Pathology Manager + Multiple PAs that handle grossing
Monday-Friday 9am-5pm schedule, 1 day per week 8 am start
Department annual volume: 170 peripheral bloods, 200 bone marrows, 84 lymph nodes
Flow cytometry sent out to reference lab (integrated oncology - part of LabCorp) and flow interpretation done onsite
Opportunity for teaching and research - partnership with residency program which has medical students and a 24-person residency class
