Job Details

Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform forensic autopsies on patients ranging from infants (1 week old) to the elderly
- Complete toxicology screening for all cases; mandatory for infant autopsies and drug-related deaths
- Conduct X-rays for gunshot wound cases
- Determine when to order slides for natural cases, such as GI bleeds
- Request histology for questionable cancer or natural cases, with tissue saved for every case
- Ensure certification for child death pathology to perform autopsies on infants
- Manage 3–4 cases per day
