Pathlink is seeking a Board Certified Cytopathologist for a part time position in Freehold,NJ

Minimum of 20 hours per week.

All specimen types – focusing on Cytopathology with some general Pathology

Ideal candidate will have Hospital Surgical Specimen experience

About the Role:

The Cytopathologist plays a critical role in the diagnosis and management of diseases at the cellular level by examining samples obtained through various minimally invasive procedures. This position involves the detailed microscopic evaluation of cells from body fluids, fine needle aspirations, and exfoliative cytology to detect malignancies, infections, and other pathological conditions. The Cytopathologist collaborates closely with clinical teams to provide accurate and timely diagnostic information that directly influences patient treatment plans. Additionally, the role includes overseeing laboratory operations related to cytopathology, ensuring quality control, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Ultimately, the Cytopathologist contributes to advancing patient care through expert interpretation of cytological specimens and participation in multidisciplinary case discussions.



Job Responsibilities

Perform microscopic examination and interpretation of cytological specimens including fine needle aspirations, body fluids, and exfoliative samples.
Provide accurate and timely diagnostic reports to guide clinical decision-making and patient management.
Collaborate with pathologists, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals to correlate cytological findings with clinical and radiological data.
Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes within the cytopathology laboratory to maintain high standards of diagnostic accuracy.
Participate in continuing education, research activities, and multidisciplinary tumor boards to stay current with advances in cytopathology and related fields.

Qualifications

Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
Completion of residency training in pathology with subspecialty fellowship training in cytopathology.
Board certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology by the American Board of Pathology.
Valid New Jersey medical license to practice pathology in the United States.
Demonstrated experience in diagnostic cytopathology.

Minimum of 20 hours per week
