The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, ranked No. 1 nationwide for cancer care, seeks a Medical Director of Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine Pathology and a Clinical Faculty Member. The Medical Director and the Clinical Faculty Member will work at one of the world's most respected centers devoted exclusively to cancer patient care, research, and prevention.

Medical Director Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine Pathology
  • Lead the strategic development and growth of an established program, overseeing and guiding its evolution into a comprehensive and innovative, nationally renowned service
  • Direct a team and work collaboratively with world renowned experts in comprehensive cancer center dedicated to patient care, research, education, and prevention at the No.1 Cancer Center in the nation
  • Further expand and develop a program dedicated to providing high quality donor and patient transfusion services while also pursuing cutting edge research transitioning the field of transfusion medicine
  • Benefit from extensive backing and collaboration across various departments and divisions
  • Oversee all program processes, from donor collection to the identification and management of transfusion reactions. Exercise autonomy in critical decision-making, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment to ensure the success of the
  • Lead operational activities with a specific emphasis on scientific, technical, regulatory, and interpretative aspects
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of a bustling transfusion medicine service by actively participating in clinical activities
Clinical Faculty Member
  • Actively participate in overseeing operations with a focus on scientific, technical, regulatory, and interpretative activities
  • Assist in operational clinical activities and the day-to-day functioning of a bustling transfusion medicine service
  • Be an integral part of a dynamic clinical consultation service, providing oversight for a significant volume of blood and blood product transactions annually

Required Qualifications
Degree(s): M.D. or M.D., Ph.D. in a field appropriate to faculty role. Board certification in Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology or Clinical Pathology Board specialty certification or eligibility in Transfusion Medicine

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience: Assistant Professor applicants must have at least 1 year of full-time post-doctoral training in transfusion medicine. Associate Professor applicants must have at least 5 years’ experience as Assistant Professor or equivalent or 10 years’ e
