Job description
We are seeking a skilled Pain Management Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in an outpatient setting. The provider will deliver comprehensive interventional pain management care to a diverse patient population and participate in clinical and quality initiatives.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Day shifts only (8 hours)
- Office-based call coverage after hours and weekends
- No block scheduling
Practice Setting
- Outpatient / ambulatory pain management clinic
- Support staff includes secretary and LPN during clinic hours
- Coverage may include clinic and ambulatory procedural space
Patient Population
- All age groups: neonates to geriatrics
- Primarily ambulatory patients
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including evaluation and treatment of pain conditions
- Perform interventional pain procedures
- Coordinate diagnostic testing, treatment plans, and referrals
- Supervise and collaborate with nursing and support staff
- Participate in quality assurance and peer review activities
- Support clinical education initiatives when applicable
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards
Required Procedures
- Epidural steroid injections (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)
- Medial branch blocks
- Radiofrequency ablation
- Peripheral nerve blocks
- Trigger point injections
- Sacroiliac joint injections
- Spinal cord stimulator trials
- Genicular nerve blocks and RFA
- Intercostal nerve blocks
- Piriformis injections
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pain Management
- Fellowship training in pain management (non-ACGME accepted)
- Active state medical license (required at time of submission)
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1–2 years of post-fellowship experience
- Experience with Epic EMR required
