Pain Management Physician – Birmingham, Alabama
Compensation: $400,000 base salary + incentives (total earnings $500,000+)

Our client, a well-established multidisciplinary Pain Management and Anesthesiology group, is seeking a dedicated Pain Management Physician to join their team in Birmingham, AL. This practice is committed to delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care through interventional procedures, medication management, and a holistic approach to chronic pain. The team prioritizes restoring patient function, improving quality of life, and providing safe, effective treatment options tailored to each individual.

About the Practice

This group brings together physicians, advanced practitioners, and clinical support staff to diagnose and treat a full spectrum of pain-related conditions. They focus on modern treatment modalities and recognize the physical and emotional complexity of chronic pain. The mission is simple: to reduce suffering, improve function, and help patients return to productive, fulfilling lives.

Position Highlights

  • Compensation:

    • Year 1 base salary: ~$400,000

    • Total earnings frequently exceed $500,000+

    • Compensation structure transitions to a higher incentive component in Year 2 for increased earning potential

  • Clinical Team Support:

    • 3 Nurses

    • 6 Medical Assistants

    • 2 Lab staff

    • 2 Precert specialists

    • 2 Front desk staff

    • Anesthesiologist, CRNA, PA-C

  • Common Conditions Treated:

    • Post-surgical pain

    • Neuropathic and diabetic pain

    • Fibromyalgia

    • Neck and back pain

    • Headaches and migraines

    • Carpal tunnel syndrome

    • Disc-related disorders

Qualifications

- Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of Alabama (or ability to obtain)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pain Medicine or Chronic Pain
- Fellowship-trained candidates and new graduates are welcome
- Anesthesiology residency preferred (not required)
- PM&R candidates considered only if Pain Board Certified

Working Hours

- Start Date: ASAP
- Monday–Thursday: 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Friday: 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
- Patient Volume: Approximately 20 patients per full clinic day
