Interventional Pain Physician

Memphis, TN

Currently seeking a full-time Interventional Pain Physician to join an established outpatient pain management team serving multiple clinics and an ASC in the Greater Memphis area (TN/MS). This is an employed, outpatient role within a comprehensive, patient-focused pain practice using cutting-edge technology.

Responsibilities of the Interventional Pain Physician

  • Provide comprehensive, multi-disciplinary pain management care; may supervise APPs (ARNPs/Physician Assistants).

  • Create patient-focused, safe, and balanced treatment plans.

  • Perform/problem-focused physical exams and obtain medical histories to assess injury, disease, chronic pain, or disabling conditions.

  • Determine, order, and interpret appropriate diagnostic studies (including radiology and labs).

  • Implement evidence-based treatments for chronic pain (e.g., medications, nerve blocks, electrical stimulation, and other interventional therapies).

  • Perform procedures primarily at a nearby outpatient single-specialty surgery center with staff experienced in chronic pain procedures.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic health records; initiate consultations/referrals when needed.

  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

  • Counsel patients and families on conditions, medications (including interactions), and health promotion; support long-term care needs.

  • Direct, support, and collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers.

  • Participate in practice growth via marketing, educational, and community engagements.

  • Adhere to HIPAA and maintain strict confidentiality.

Requirements of the Interventional Pain Physician

  • MD or DO (or foreign equivalent).

  • Board-Eligible or Board-Certified in Pain Medicine, Anesthesiology, PM&R, or related field.

  • Completed (or in process of completing) an ACGME-accredited Pain Medicine Fellowship.

  • Active, unrestricted Medical License and DEA in Tennessee and Mississippi, or willingness to obtain.

  • Current BLS/ACLS certifications.
