Interventional Pain Physician – Northern California (100 Miles from Sacramento)
Position Overview
Join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team at a leading community hospital recognized with the 2020 Leapfrog Top General Hospital Award. We are seeking a board-certified Interventional Pain Physician to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care in an outpatient setting. Qualifications
Board Certification in Pain Management
Fellowship training in Pain Management (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation preferred; Anesthesiology and Neurology also accepted)
Active California Fluoroscopy license and operator’s permit (must be obtained prior to start)
Key Responsibilities
Provide interventional pain management for chronic pain patients in a fully equipped outpatient clinic
Perform a variety of in-office procedures, including:
Botox injections
Electromyography (EMG) studies (upper and lower extremities preferred)
Trigger point and joint injections
Fluoroscopy-guided procedures (oral and conscious sedation, anesthesia available)
Epidural steroid injections (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)
Medial branch blocks, radiofrequency ablations
Neurostimulator trials
Minimally invasive lumbar decompression (MILD)
Offer alternatives to opioid therapy and avoid prescribing opioids to outpatients
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all procedures and patient interactions
Participate in a well-established referral network within a vibrant university town community
Experience with EMG (preferred)
No intrathecal pump management required
No inpatient call responsibilities
Group Size: Collaborate with a team of 4 PM&R physicians, a nurse practitioner, therapists, nurses, dieticians, and case managers
