We are seeking an experienced Board-Certified Otolaryngologist (ENT Physician) for a full-time locum-to-permanent opportunity in Des Moines, Iowa. This role offers a balanced mix of outpatient ENT clinic care and inpatient hospital coverage, serving a diverse adult and pediatric population across Central Iowa. The position is ideal for ENT physicians seeking long-term stability following a locum assignment while maintaining a high-volume, full-scope otolaryngology practice. The practice supports comprehensive ENT services with strong ancillary staff, modern diagnostic capabilities, and an integrated EMR system.
Job Responsibilities
• Diagnose and treat disorders of the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck
• Perform full-scope ENT procedures and surgeries
• Provide inpatient hospital coverage as scheduled
• Participate in outpatient ENT clinic services
• Collaborate with surgical teams for OR scheduling and procedures
• Take part in the on-call rotation for ENT coverage
• Supervise and collaborate with nursing and ancillary staff
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the EMR system
• Participate in teaching opportunities as available
Qualifications
• Active Iowa medical license or eligibility via IMLC
• Minimum experience required in a full-scope ENT practice
• Ability to work full-time (1.0 FTE)
• Clean malpractice and professional background
• Willingness to participate in inpatient coverage and call rotation
• Strong clinical, procedural, and communication skills
Working Hours
• Clinic hours: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• 36 patient contact hours per week
• Full-time (1.0 FTE)
• On-call coverage included as part of the schedule
• Weekend coverage as needed
