Otolaryngology - Locum Tenens | Iowa

Job Overview:
We are seeking a Board-Certified Otolaryngologist for a locum tenens assignment beginning August 18, 2025. This is a high-need, full-scope ENT opportunity for experienced providers who can offer full-time coverage at least two weeks per month, including clinic and 24/7 hospital call.

Assignment Details:

• Location: MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center – Waterloo, Iowa

• Start Date: Must be available starting August 18, 2025

• Duration: Ongoing

• Schedule:

  • Clinic Days: Monday–Friday (3–5 days/week)

  • Clinic Hours: Mon–Thurs 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Fri 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • Procedure/OR Day: Friday

  • Call Coverage: 24/7 call for 2 consecutive weeks/month (includes established patients, ED, and consults)

  • Shift Lengths: 24-hour coverage for call

Practice & Facility Details:

• Inpatient Responsibilities: Yes

• Clinic Volume: 15–25 patients/day

• Exam Rooms: 3 per provider plus procedure rooms

• Support Staff: 2:1 ratio of nursing and ancillary support

• EMR: Epic

• Other Services: On-site lab, imaging, pharmacy, full-time audiologist

• Patient Demographics: Adult males and females from urban and rural populations

Procedures Required:

• General ENT clinic care

• Basic ENT surgeries (tubes, tonsils)

• Nasopharyngeal scopes

• Biopsies

• Direct laryngoscopies

Candidate Requirements:

• Board Certified in Otolaryngology – Required

• Fellowship Trained (ENT) – Required

• Active Iowa License or IMLC – Required (must upload LOQ at submission)

• Minimum 5 years of experience preferred

• Clean malpractice history – Required

• Must be available for full-time coverage starting August 18, 2025
