Southern Illinois University School of Medicine Division of Otolaryngology is seeking a Neurotologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. This is an exciting time to join a distinguished Otolaryngology program as the second Neurotologist in an academic group with an established and robust practice in Central Illinois. The program has 12 faculty members, with fellowship training in head and neck oncology, microvascular reconstruction, skull base surgery and facial plastic surgery. The Neurotology practice has a well-established referral network for the cochlear implant program, skull base and chronic ear cases while continuing to expand into regional markets. SIU Medicine also has an established auditory research program with over 30 years of NIH-funded research. The Division will be housed in a new medical office building dedicated to Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery in 2017. The Division of Otolaryngology is committed to the mission of SIU School of Medicine to assist the people of central and southern Illinois in meeting their health-care needs through education, patient care, research and service to the community. Founded in 1970, SIU has received national and international recognition for auditory research in the areas of aging, otoprotection mechanisms, noise-induced hearing loss, hair cell regeneration, and tinnitus.

Memorial Medical Center and St. John's Hospital, both 500-bed community hospitals, are teaching sites for SIU Medicine. Qualifications : The candidate must have an MD or DO degree and be Board eligible/Board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology with Subspecialty Certification in Neurotology .
