Associate Director of Family Practice Residency Program

Seeking ABFP for our Family Medicine Residency, Associate Director position. The dynamics of the practice will be 80% Teaching/ 20% Clinic Practice. This is a well established accredited Residency Program. In December 1971, Trover Health System (now Baptist Health Madisonville) established a family practice residency program, the first of its kind in the state of Kentucky. The three-year training program is designed for physicians who have already received their medical degree and wish to pursue a specialty in family practice.

There are currently 18 residents seeing patients in what is now know as Baptist Health Madisonville Family Practice Residency. Our goal was, and is, to increase the number of qualified primary care physicians practicing in rural, underserved areas.

Our program offers the unique opportunity to learn rural medicine without sacrificing the latest in advanced treatment and equipment.

Some of the myriad benefits of our program include:

Large tertiary care hospital
90+ physicians
100% of our residents have passed the American Board of Family Practice Certification exam
No other residencies competing for patients or procedures
One-on-one teaching by physicians who represent virtually all medical specialties
Call is spent mostly at home
Diverse patient contact in a service area of more than 150,000 people
Affordable housing, reasonable cost of living and access to metropolitan area available to speak with interested parties.
Please contact us to discuss this opportunity.
