Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon for a locum tenens assignment supporting a well-established clinical and surgical program in the Southwest region. This opportunity offers a balanced mix of outpatient clinic and surgical cases, covering general orthopedic procedures in a collaborative care setting.
The provider will be responsible for managing both clinic visits and operative cases, working alongside experienced support staff including RNs, MAs, and front office personnel. This assignment is ideal for a physician comfortable with a steady case volume and flexible scheduling, including weekday coverage and call responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities
Evaluate and manage approximately 15 patients per day in clinic
Perform 6–10 surgical cases as scheduled
Participate in call rotation, including nights and weekends as needed
Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical and administrative teams
Utilize EMR system for documentation and patient management
Qualifications
Active State License or IMLC (LOQ in hand)
DEA registration
ACLS and BLS certifications required
Clean malpractice history
Working Hours
Flexible scheduling: 2–4 weeks per month accepted
Assignment length: 3–6 months
Start: As soon as credentialed

Clinic and operative case management
EMR proficiency (Cerner preferred)
Strong clinical decision-making and patient care skills
Ability to manage mixed inpatient/outpatient workflow
