- Other Details: We are seeking an orthopedic surgery physician for locum tenens coverage to provide inpatient and on-call coverage from Wednesday, August 5 at 7 a.m. through Monday, August 10 at 7 a.m., and Monday, October 26 at 7 a.m. through Friday, November 6 at 7 a.m. This role includes inpatient care and emergency call coverage with no clinic responsibilities. The provider will manage an average daily hospital census of 10–20 patients, including all ages, performing history and physical exams, evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and consulting on conditions affecting the extremities, spine, and associated musculoskeletal structures, including trauma, infections, tumors, metabolic disturbances, deformities, injuries, and degenerative diseases. Responsibilities may include ICU care, stabilizing emergent patients, and coordinating care with other orthopedic physicians and advanced practice providers, utilizing onsite medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy services.

Job Responsibilities
* Manage conditions affecting the extremities, spine, and musculoskeletal system, including trauma, infections, tumors, deformities, injuries, and degenerative diseases
* Stabilize and determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policies
* Provide care in the intensive care setting as needed
* Coordinate care with other orthopedic physicians and advanced practice providers
* Utilize onsite medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy services to support patient care
Qualifications
* Experience in inpatient orthopedic care and management of musculoskeletal emergencies
* Ability to work independently in high-acuity hospital settings
* Experience with trauma, surgical interventions, and musculoskeletal consultations
Working Hours
* On-call inpatient coverage: October 26, 7 a.m. – November 6, 7 a.m.
* Coverage includes both weekdays and weekends
* No clinic responsibilities
Skills
* Ability to assess, stabilize, and manage emergent and complex patients
* Effective communication and teamwork with physicians, APPs, and hospital staff
* Proficiency in ICU and high-acuity patient management
* Professionalism, reliability, and adaptability during extended on-call periods
