Locum Orthopedic Surgery Physician needed in Waterloo, Iowa!

Locum Opportunity – Orthopedic Surgery – Waterloo & Cedar Falls, IA

Seeking a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Surgeon for locum tenens call coverage.

Coverage Dates

• August 5 at 7:00 AM – August 10 at 7:00 AM

• October 26 at 7:00 AM – November 6 at 7:00 AM

Coverage includes inpatient and call responsibilities at both facilities. No clinic duties.

Practice Details

• Reason for coverage: Vacation/time off

• Inpatient and call coverage only

• Average daily census: 10–20 patients across both locations

• 4 physicians and 4 APPs on staff

• No APP supervision required

• EMR: Epic Enterprise

• On-site imaging, lab, and pharmacy services available

• Patient population: All ages

Scope of Practice

• Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and treat orthopedic conditions

• Manage trauma, infections, tumors, metabolic bone disease, deformities, and degenerative conditions

• Treat spine, hand, foot, knee, hip, shoulder, and elbow conditions

• Provide surgical and non-surgical care

• Assess and stabilize emergent orthopedic cases

• Provide care in ICU setting as needed per medical staff policy

Travel Reimbursement

• Flight (capped)

• Lodging (capped; preferred hotel available)

• Rental car (capped; preferred vendors available)

• Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate

Requirements

• Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery

• Fellowship trained in Orthopedic Surgery

• Active Iowa license or IMLC (LOQ required at name clear)

• Must be experienced

• Must be available for both listed coverage blocks

• Clean malpractice and background history

• NPDB Self-Query (dated within the last 30–90 days at presentation)
