Locums Orthopedic Surgeon Opportunity
Location: Mason City, Iowa
IMLC Accepted
COVERAGE DATES (REQUIRED)
- Block 1: March 13 @ 7:00 AM – March 24 @ 7:00 AM
- Block 2: April 23 @ 7:00 AM – April 28 @ 7:00 AM
- Requirement: Candidate must be available for both blocks
- Clinic Days: Monday–Friday
- Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Call: Yes, 24-hour call coverage plus follow-up clinic patients
- Inpatient: Rounding on post-op patients, inpatient/ED consults, OR coverage
- Job Scope: Clinical, Surgical, Trauma/Orthopedic Call
- Procedures Required:
- Total hip, knee, shoulder replacements
- Hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, foot surgeries
- Trauma injuries, fracture care, sports medicine, other orthopedic disorders
- Trauma Level: III
- Physicians: 4
- APPs: 7 (supervision required)
- Support Staff per Provider:
- 1 nurse/provider, 3 cast techs/7 providers
- 3 receptionists/7 providers, 2 surgery schedulers/7 providers
- Exam Rooms per Provider: 2 exam rooms + 3 cast rooms
- Medical Imaging / Lab / Pharmacy: Onsite
- Average Daily Hospital Census: ~160 consults/day
- Appointment Length: 10–30 minutes (varies by consult, recheck, post-op, procedure)
- Population Served: Hub hospital + 16 surrounding counties (~200,000 population)
- EMR: Epic
- Teaching Opportunities: IM and FM residency, PA student rotation
- Board Certification: Required (Board Eligible not accepted)
- State License: Active Iowa license or Active IMLC (upload LOQ)
