Job description Brattleboro, Vermont – Orthopedic Surgeon Status: Full-Time (40 hours/week) with Rotating Call Availability:

Position Summary: The Orthopedic Surgeon provides comprehensive care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions, including surgical and non-surgical management. The role involves diagnosis, treatment planning, performing surgeries, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose orthopedic conditions via physical exams, medical history, and imaging (X-ray, MRI, CT).
  • Develop individualized treatment plans (surgical and non-surgical).
  • Perform orthopedic surgeries (joint replacements, fracture repairs, arthroscopy, etc.).
  • Collaborate with primary care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and rehabilitation specialists.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Stay current on evidence-based practices and advancements in orthopedic surgery.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing education.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Adhere to ethical and professional standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Residency: Completed orthopedic surgery residency program
  • Board Certification: Board certified or board eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Licensure:
    • Valid Vermont medical license
    • Valid Vermont DEA license
  • Certifications: CPR for Healthcare Providers
  • Proficiency in modern orthopedic surgical techniques
  • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Commitment to patient safety and professional development
Compensation:
  • $300,000 – $360,000 annually
  • Final compensation based on experience, education, and market competitiveness
