Established orthopedic surgery practice in Mason City, Iowa is seeking a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon for locum coverage. This role offers a mix of clinic, OR, inpatient consults, and trauma call in a hub hospital serving a large regional population.

Candidate Requirements
-
Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery – REQUIRED (Board Eligible not accepted)

Active Iowa license or Active IMLC (LOQ required) – REQUIRED

Clean malpractice and background – REQUIRED

Self-Query NPDB report (within 30 days of presentation) – REQUIRED

Must be able to cover BOTH blocks of dates – REQUIRED

Must be able to perform all listed orthopedic procedures – REQUIRED

Inpatient Responsibilities: Post-op rounding, inpatient and ED consults, OR coverage
Clinical Responsibilities & Required Services
Providers must be able to perform the following:

Total joint replacement: hip, knee, shoulder

Surgical procedures involving: hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and foot

Trauma injuries and fracture care

Sports medicine and other orthopedic disorders

Clinical, surgical, and trauma/orthopedic call coverage
Staffing & Facility Support

Physician/Nurse Ratio: 1 nurse per provider

Cast Technicians: 3 cast techs / 7 providers

Ancillary Staff:

3 reception staff / 7 providers

2 surgery schedulers / 7 providers

Exam Rooms: 2 exam rooms per provider
