We’re seeking an experienced Orthopedic Surgeon for a locum tenens assignment providing 24/7 ED and inpatient consult coverage in a small rural community hospital with a Level III trauma setting. This is an excellent short-term opportunity for a surgeon who is actively practicing and comfortable with broad orthopedic coverage.

• 🔹 Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery

• 🔹 Coverage Type: 24-hour call (ED + inpatient consults)

• 🔹 Facility Setting: Community Hospital (72 licensed beds)

• 🔹 Trauma Level: Level III

• 🔹 Patient Scope: Full general orthopedics

• 🔹 Higher-acuity cases transferred to a regional center

• 🔹 EMR: Cerner

• 🔹 Support: OR and hospital staff available

📅 Dates Needed

• 📆 February 13–15 (ending morning of February 16)

✅ Candidate Requirements

• ✔️ Board Certified or Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon

• ✔️ Actively working at a facility (not right out of residency)

• ✔️ California medical license

• ✔️ Completion of ACGME or AOA–approved residency

• ✔️ DEA (can be in process at presentation)

• ✔️ CA fluoroscopy certificate by time of coverage

• ✔️ Clean malpractice history

• ✔️ NPDB self-query (dated within 30 days)

✈️ Travel Notes

• 🏨 Preferred lodging: standard business hotels

• 🚗 Travel via Sacramento airport with drive to Red Bluff
