Job description
We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Orthopedic Physician to provide 24/7 coverage of the Emergency Department and inpatient consultations at a small rural community hospital. This role requires active clinical experience—candidates must be currently practicing at a facility, not immediately out of residency.

⏰ Schedule

Dates: Feb 13–15 (ending AM of Feb 16)

Coverage: 24/7 ED and inpatient consultations

FTE: 1

Patient Load: Full general orthopedic coverage; higher-level patients transferred to larger regional hospital
🩺 Required Procedures & Skills

Full general orthopedic care

Inpatient and ED consults

Ability to manage trauma patients and collaborate with regional referral centers
✅ Candidate Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedics

Active California medical license
-
Completion of ACGME or AOA-approved residency

DEA license (required during credentialing)

CA Fluoroscopy Certificate (required by coverage dates)

Clean malpractice history preferred

Self-Query NPDB (within 30 days) required at presentation

Must have active clinical practice; no candidates right out of residency without experience

Local travel preferred: Fly into Sacramento and drive ~2 hours north to Red Bluff

No flights into smaller regional airports
