Locum Orthopedic Surgeon Needed in Washington!

ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking one Orthopedic Surgeon to provide ongoing locum coverage at a Level II Trauma Center. This role involves trauma call coverage with dedicated PA support and limited outpatient clinic duties. Coverage is needed due to a provider resignation and is expected to last 6–9 months.

Dates / Schedule

• Start Date: As soon as credentialed (typically 60–90 days)

• Duration: 6–9 months

• Coverage Needs: Up to 2 weeks per month, based on gaps in internal provider schedule

• Call Coverage:

  • ER coverage 24/7 during assigned weeks

  • Dedicated PA support

• Clinic:

  • Approximately 3 mornings per week, Monday–Friday (exact days not yet confirmed)

• FTE: 1.0

• Setting: Hospital and outpatient clinic

Job Details / Responsibilities

• Provide full-spectrum orthopedic trauma coverage at a Level II Trauma Center

• Manage 0–7 patients per day, variable acuity

• Perform a broad range of orthopedic procedures excluding complex pelvic cases

• Participate in inpatient trauma care, ER consults, and outpatient follow-up

• Use EPIC EMR

• Work with hospital support staff and MAs in the outpatient clinic

• Reason for coverage: Provider resignation

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon (Required)

• Fellowship-trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon (Required)

  • Candidates with significant trauma experience but no fellowship may be considered if credentialable

• Minimum 5 years of Level II trauma experience (Deal breaker)

• WA State License (Highly preferred) or IMLC with LOQ in hand

• BLS and DEA (Required; may obtain after offer if not current)

• Clean malpractice history (Highly preferred)

• Availability confirmed at time of name clear

• Comfortable covering ER trauma independently with PA support
